The South Australian Parliament has made it unlawful to refuse service or goods to a woman who is breastfeeding.
The Government says its Equal Opportunity Bill is not as strong as it would like, but is a big improvement on existing discrimination laws.
It legislation makes it illegal in most cases for employers and schools to force staff or children to stop wearing religious clothing.
The Government says the bill also protects people with disabilities, mental illness and diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis C.
